WTF Story Of The Day: Bond Set For Wal-Mart Child Puncher
March 12, 2010
Yes, you read that headline correctly: The Wal-Mart Child Puncher. I couldn’t make this up if I tried. According to the Columbus Ohio Dispatch, a 68-year-old grandfather had a bond set for $150,000 in response to charges that the man has been punching children in a Columbus Wal-Mart.
Yes, he is a serial child punching grandfather.
The man, Ralph Conone is accused of punching different children over several occasions at the Wal-Mart. He was apprehended trying to flee the store after a 6-year old boy told his mother he had been punched in the back of the head. Surveillance video in the store confirmed that not only the assault on that boy but other assaults on his 7-year-old brother and two other children who have yet been identified.
Conone admitted to the assaults, saying that he he would put his keys between his fingers and punch the children when their parents weren’t looking. He said he’d been doing it SINCE JANUARY because he liked the excitement of getting away with it.
Conone’s Defense Attorney told the court before the bond was set that the Conone had mental issues.
That’s a safe bet.
